About Cabi-Soft - Baldy II

Baldy II was a simple platform game, written for a laugh while working at a local computer retailer. The general idea was to run around the company collecting disks. It featured locations and people within the company, and had creative input from my colleges at the time.

The game had 20 screens to complete, each based on a real department or place where we installed equipment.

Level 1 - The skip

Level 4 - Engineering Dpt

Level 14 - A museum

There were also bonus levels that used classic arcade games as a base, but threw in some stupid twists such as "Sales Invaders". This featured rows of salesmen (considered dumb-ass-no-hopers) being spat at by the main character.

Then there was "Coke Bottle Asteroids". The main character sat in the middle of the screen holding a weapon invented at the time by myself and the other engineers - the Coke Bottle Canon. Basically it was a small fire extinguisher (the ones with funnels on the end) with a plastic coke bottle wedged in the end. Upon pressing the release button, the coke bottle became a cool missile.

Next up was "Burger Pacman" where the main character has to run around a maze eating burgers!

Then lastly was the climax of the whole game, where you got to meet the Director of the company and dump him in a huge vat of shit. This last level was, for reason I won't go into, called "Donkey-Breath-Turd-Burglar-Trousers-Zibar-Kong".
